Neal Weingart

Neal Weingart was raised in Dallas, Texas, earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, and received his law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law. He began his career in the courtroom — first with the American Civil Liberties Union, then at Multnomah Defenders, Inc., one of Portland’s most respected indigent-defense firms, where he tried a wide range of misdemeanor and felony cases. That early, trial-heavy work shaped the lawyer he is today: one who prepares every case for a jury from day one.

Over more than 19 years, Mr. Weingart has built a practice grounded in the courtroom. He has tried cases to verdict before Oregon juries and represented injured people in matters ranging from car and truck collisions to workplace injuries, premises liability, and wrongful death. He is a veteran trial lawyer with deep experience preparing and presenting cases to judges and juries — and Oregon’s insurers know it. That trial readiness is often what moves an insurance company off a lowball offer and toward full and fair value.

Outside the courtroom, Mr. Weingart stays active in the legal community. He served on the Legal Committee of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, working with colleagues to lobby the legislature for changes in Oregon law, and he is an active member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. He remains committed to staying on the cutting edge of trial advocacy.
